In 1964 several plots of land were purchased near Kaliakoir with the plan of starting a educational program. The place was very remote at the time and almost uninhabitable Thick jungle covered The road to Dhaka was not much more than a dirt track.
By 1969 the educational need of the young people was given careful consideration and under the direction of David P. Rema (1969-1973) , a junior high school established. He worked with students and faculty to build " Kutcha " houses and cleared a portion of jungle. In 1970, thirty students enrolled in the pioneer school.
Students traveled from the north and south to attend the new school. Most people were poor families in villages By 1973 the program was upgraded to a full 10-grade high school under the leadership of Sunith K. Das (1973-1976) . A two-year seminary program was also introduced at this time. Many of the early brick buildings were constructed during these years. Slowly the land was cleared and the campus took shape.
A special agricultural program, following the " Mittleider Method " was started in the direction of the WL Fuller (1975-1975) in 1975 . The goal was not only to students but also to train them in effective agricultural methods so when they returned home to their homes.
In 1976 BH Stickle (1976-1977) succeeded Sunith K. Das as Principal . Under his leadership, the school found a path to development. During this time
There was an interim period after BH Stickle left for home in 1977 , when Robert G. Burton (1977-1977) served as acting principal until Clyde E. Ondrizek (1977-1981) arrived. During Ondrizek's time more land was purchased, the physical plant improved, and the scholastic and ethical education was strengthened.
Robert G. Burton (1981-1983) returned to the school in 1981 as principal and continued to improve. In 1983, the Bachelor of Fellowship was established in London. The visiting evaluation team from General Conference encourages the institution to press forward with a college program and set up
Sukrit K. Das (1983-1987) was called first president of Bangladesh Adventist Seminary and College and in June 1983 the junior college program started. Programs were offered in Business, Religion, Education and Secretarial Science . The college program thrived and grew under Sukrit. Das' leadership
Isaac P. Bairagee (1987-1988) came to BASC in 1987 as president and began preparations for upgrading to a four-year program. In 1988, when Isaac P. Bairagee left, Edwin P. Rema (1989-1990) prepared for the assessment team with a four-year program.
The four-year senior college program was inaugurated in August 1990 the day after Dr. Stephen R. Guptill, Ed. D. (1990-1995) , the new president arrived. A four-year program was started in Business, Religion, and Education .
This was a time of rapid growth for the campus physical plant. A new church was built. Soon after, a new girls' hostel was completed through gifts from Australia, Japan and Singapore. A new deep well was done and many married students were made. In the boys' hostel toilet facilities were provided and a water tank was built on top of the administration building. A dining hall cum gymnasium was built in 1993 by a generous gift from Swedish people The campus was improved with paved walks and benches. A fine irrigation system was established in 1994 .
In 1994 and 1995 a campus for security A new library was built in 1995 to accommodate the growing book This was largely funded by a gift from the British High Commissioner of Dhaka and other BASC friends. In 1996 the third floor of the Boy's Hostel was added to boys for separate rooms.
Many visitors, volunteers and friends have contributed Louis Thayer's inspiration, support and supervision of the construction during the 1990s were significant. Installation of natural gas line was initiated by the leadership of Dr. Stephen R. Guptill though he could not complete
Under Dr. Winston R. Dennis, Ed. D. (1995-2000) Bangladesh Adventist Seminary and College continues to grow and improve in an effort to teach the young people of Bangladesh.
In 1997 , BASC filed application with University Grant Commission to be recognized as a Private University . Thus, the name of the institution was changed to Adventist University and Seminary of Bangladesh (AUSB) at the September Evaluation in 1998 . After the 1998 evaluation, The Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Southern Adventist University (SAU) , Tennessee, USA for the BBA extension program .
As a result of this, there was a large enrollment in 1999 for the BBA program. In the year 2000, an agreement was signed between AUSB and SAU. AUSB offered an off-campus BBA program in Accounting and Management majors under SAU extension program.
In 2000 due to student unrest the BBA program and the arrangement with SAU fell apart and many students left the school. The school changed its name back to BASC and reorganized along traditional SDA fundamentals. With these changes and the leadership of Dr. Claudio M. Martin, Ed. D. (2001-2004) as the president, SDA enrollment returns to operating levels. Before Dr. Martin take his responsibility as President of BASC Dr. CH tid well was appointed for two months.
Dr. Dauglas D. Roy, D. Min. (2004-2005) was appointed as an interim president of BASC . Under his leadership, he continued as a full Seventh-day Adventist undergraduate institution, imparting true education for the student's physical, mental, social and spiritual development. Second floor of the Guptill Library was built for conference, computer lab and classrooms . New generator installed
Dr. Myun Ju Lee, D. Min. (October 1, 2005-2013) a South Korean has been appointed as President at BASC . In his leadership, substantial improvement in the campus and in the community has been taking place. Medical Several, educators and social service team from KOREA visited Bangladesh to serve people. In the community many drinking wells were donated.
At BASC new water pipe lines for whole campus, provision of water filtering system, construction of paved roads in the south campus, ponds have been renovated to increase income in fish project, building quarters (Lee House) and third floor of the faculty quarters Were constructed. Boys 'and girls' dormitory rusted and broken windows changed in aluminum frames and glasses and seriously damaged roof repaired. Boys' toilet was renovated with tiles and aluminum doors . Wall in Boundary to hashtag on the northern side of the campus has been erected. Generator A new church has built in Gowalbathan Adventist Church with the support of the Korean believers . New computer lab equipped with updated computers and Internet facilities in the modern technology. Music room has been renovated (May 2011) . Boys' Hostel has been extended by Danish Government donation and BASC matching fund.
Dr. Chong Ho Yang, Ph. D., (October 1, 2013) a South Korean has been appointed as President of BASC . He is very much interested in speaking and learning English language and trying to develop the infrastructure of BASC , and renovation of many areas of BAS College.
At BASC the 1st floor of the boy's dormitory has been built by Dr. Yang , also cafeteria renovated with tiles, new six gas ranges, a refrigerator and many big pots for the cafeteria . Students started eating spoons to avoid many diseases, these spoons donated by Dr. Yang.
North campus wall renovation, Library renovation with paints and tiles and fixed with LED lighting system, 16 new computers installed for BASC . Out of 16 computers 3 new computers installed in the library , so that library can be digitalized. New high sophisticated and latest technology photo copy machine has installed. Build girls play ground, 110 sponsorship added for BASC students 20 cows added in the livestock projects, all the fish ponds have given lease to the ADRA Bangladesh for 5 years and the total project income of 40% profit is per year. BASC church painted , Foreign guest room renovated with 4 AC installed , local guest room renovated. Installed and girls with hostel to Boys led lighting . An English medium school has started with 45 students and bought a van for the transportation of the off campus students.
